Privacy Policy and Terms of Use
ReactionFoundation.org
Privacy Policy and Terms of UseUpdated pursuant to the new California Consumer Protection Act Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.140(t)(1)
Here is everything in plain English:
Your privacy is important to us! We have never, nor will we ever, sell, rent or share any donor information with any third parties outside of our internal network of employees, IT consultants and firms we use to mail solicitations to you (Streamline Mail Systems Inc.) and the company that purchases donations from us and coordinates the actual pick-up from your home (Eco Thrift Corporation) via its phone schedulers and drivers.
The type of contact you have had with our organization will determine the category of information we have on file for your current address.
Here is a list of the three categories of information we possibly have on file regarding your physical address:
If you did not provide us with your email address but are receiving email notices from us, we may be contacting you because we purchased a commercial list of email addresses associated with postal addresses. Such lists also typically contain resident names but that information is deleted from our data base so that all that remains is an email address linked to a postal address.
Why do we keep this data?
We keep this data to operate as efficiently as possible so that we can provide our free curbside donation pick up service which supports our organization. We need to track donation histories to tailor our frequency of contact based on individual interest and participation. When someone calls or schedules online, we need their name, address, phone number or email contact, in case anything needs to be rescheduled by us before we arrive for pick up. We then store donor information in our phone operator’s data base to save time when donors schedule again.
Are any of the companies you use, such as your IT consultants, mailing or pick up service, sharing my information with others?
Absolutely not! Neither ourselves, nor any of our associates, have ever sold or shared information about you with any outside third party, nor will they in the future. We only keep the minimum amount of information necessary for us to operate successfully and only use that information among our service providers in our internal network, on a ‘need-to-know’ basis.
Is my data safe?
To the best of our ability, we believe your data is safe as we use state of the art data protection technology provided to us by our expert network hosting service, Group One Consulting of Sacramento. Additionally, just to further reassure you, the type of data we keep is not sensitive and would be otherwise available to anyone through publicly available channels. However, to spare you any inconvenience from marketers who might use our data to solicit you, we strive to rigorously guard your information.
Who can answer further questions about your privacy policy or how I can opt out of one or more categories of information you keep on me?
Please email us at info@ReactionFoundation.org, or log on to www.ReactionFoundation.org and click on the “Privacy Policy” button for more information, including instructions on how to opt out of any or all categories of information we might have regarding your address – this is your right under the new California Consumer Protection Act - Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.140(t)(1), and we promise to respond within 45 days.

- If you have contacted Reaction Foundation to schedule a pick up at your home using our 800 telephone number or scheduled a pick up online using our website, the only information in our database would be what you provided: Name, address, phone number, email address (if provided by you), and, we would keep a history of donations made from your current address.
